(From the City of Joplin)
There will be a public meeting of the Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization (JATSO) Policy Board at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 19 in the Joplin City Hall 5th Floor Study, 602 South Main Street. Items to be discussed include the 20-year plan noted as the 2036 Metropolitan Transportation Program, two Transportation Improvement Projects, and amendments to the 2016 Unified Planning Work Program.
JATSO is seeking comments on amendments to its 2016 Unified Planning Work Program (UPWP). The UPWP is an instrument for coordinating transportation and comprehensive planning in the metropolitan region to broaden Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) awareness of activities and plans that impact surface transportation. The UPWP also outlines the JATSO’s fiscally constrained planning projects for the 2016 fiscal year. The 2016 UPWP was adopted by JATSO on October 29, 2015.
Additionally, JATSO is seeking comments on its 2014-2017 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). The TIP contains transportation and transit projects in the Joplin Metropolitan Area that are partially and/or fully funded by Federal transportation programs for a four-year period.
