Joplin police capture mental escapee

Thomas W. S. Riekenberg has been located. 

At 12:19 Joplin officers located Riekenberg near Broadway and St. Louis. He was without injury.

 The Joplin Police Department has issued an Endangered Person Advisory for a missing person incident that occurred at 35th Street and Oak Ridge Drive in Joplin, MO at 4:09 p.m. on November 5, 2015. 

Missing is Thomas W. S. Riekenberg a black, male, age 19 

The endangered missing person: Thomas W. S. Riekenberg, is a black, male, age 19, height 5 feet 7 inches, 130 pounds, with a brown Mohawk haircut, black eyes, dark complexion, wearing a red sweatshirt and jeans. 

Brief circumstances regarding the Endangered Missing Person incident: The subject was being taken to Freeman West Hospital for a 96-hour evaluation after making homicidal statements. The subject fled on foot into a wooded area. The subject has a diminished mental capacity and lives in a group home in Kansas. The subject is not familiar with the Joplin area. The subject has a previous history of charging at law enforcement with a baseball bat and was previously shot.
