Neosho woman, three others, injured in four-car chain reaction accident in Kansas City area

A Neosho woman was among four injured in a four-car, chain reaction accident 7:25 p.m. Friday on the I-35 southbound ramp to I-435 southbound.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2006 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Kevin W. Hertzog, 26, Kidder, and a 2014 Dodge Dart driven by Timothy R. Lanzone, 29, Kansas City, were stopped for traffic being blocked by Kansas City Police Department vehicles.

A 2002 Chevrolet Avalanche driven by Kurt D. Wickam, 30, Plattsburg, and a 2010 Ford Escape driven by Darla E. Duncan, 44, Neosho, attempted to slow, but were unable to do so in time.

The Wickam vehicle struck the rear of the Duncan vehicle causing it to strike the Lanzone vehicle, which hit the Hertzog vehicle.

All four drivers were treated for moderate injuries at Liberty Hospital.
