Driver identified in hit-and-run crash that killed Neosho truck driver

Kansas Highway Patrol found the truck and identified the driver involved in a hit-and-run accident that killed a Neosho driver Thursday.

According to the Patrol report, the accident occurred 12:36 p.m. Thursday two miles north of Chanute. A 2007 Freightliner driven by Paul Anthony Abram, 53, Houston, Texas, was traveling northbound on U. S. 169 when it crossed the center line and struck a 2015 Kenworth semi driven by Bryan Wayne Brodie, 56, Neosho, causing the Brodie semi to travel off the roadway to the right, where it then jackknifed and laid over into the ditch.

Brodie was killed in the crash.

Abram, who fled the scene, was located Saturday in the Kansas City area, according to the Highway Patrol. Authorities have not determined yet what charges will be filed against Abram.
