Joplin Engine 2B, Ladder 1B, Rescue 3B, Engine 3B, and Battalion 1B responded this morning at approximately 11:08 AM to a residential structure fire at 2205 West 1st Street in Joplin.
On arrival crews found smoke coming from the eaves of the structure. Crews made entry and were able to control the fire in under 10 minutes, containing the fire damage to the attic space. No injuries were reported to either response personnel or citizens. Fire crews were on scene for a little over one hour.
Five Joplin fire units and 14 Joplin fire personnel responded, as well as JPD and METS.
The cause of the fire was investigated and determined to be electrical in nature.
