A Lamar man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 2 a.m. Saturday on MO 37 in Reeds.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2004 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Peter A. Cowles, 32, Lamar, went off the east edge of the roadway, struck an embankment and overturned.
Cowles was treated for moderate injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
In addition to being charged with DWI as a prior offender, Cowles was cited for driving while suspended and careless and imprudent driving.
