As part of the continued efforts in keeping the patrons informed, the East Newton R-VI Schools
administration will provide monthly information concerning Board meetings.
A recap of the March, 2017 regular meetings is as follows:
Patriot Pride recipients were Freeman Health Systems represented by Amber Kinnaird and Matt Hurn.
Public Comments: None
The Board approved the Consent Agenda, including the previous month board minutes and monthly bills,
substitute teacher list, and let bid for roof repairs at Triway.
Program evaluation for the month was district Technology program.
Under reports A financial report was given for the month of February and enrollment numbers were
presented. Total enrollment on the last day of February (K-12) was 1,333 students. The district increased
nine students since the end of January. Attendance overall for February was 93.9%.
Under Old Business, the board approved MSBA policies 2016C.
Finally, had second reading of policies
2016D.
In respect to New Business, the Board approved 2017-2018 summer school dates. Summer school will
begin May 30 and run to June 23, for nineteen days.
The Board approved Missouri Learning Standards
for Math and English Language Arts.
Finally the Board approved surplus property - four ovens that were
in the high school Family and Consumer Science classroom.
The next regular meeting is scheduled for April 18 at 5:30 p.m. at Central Office. The Board
reorganizational meeting will be April 18 at 5:15 PM.
