On April 11, 2017, Spire, formerly Laclede Gas Company d/b/a Missouri Gas Energy (MGE), filed a natural gas rate case with the Missouri Public Service Commission seeking to increase annual natural gas revenues by approximately $34 million, exclusive of approximately $16.4 million already being recovered from Spire customers through its Infrastructure System Replacement Surcharge (ISRS). The ISRS appears as a separate item on the monthly bills of Spire customers.

Spire estimates this would result in an increase of approximately $5.09 per month for a typical residential customer using an average of 64 Ccf of natural gas per month.

Spire provides natural gas service to approximately 507,950 customers in Andrew, Barry, Barton, Bates, Buchanan, Carroll, Cass, Cedar, Christian, Clay, Clinton, Dade, DeKalb, Greene, Henry, Howard, Jackson, Jasper, Johnson, Lafayette, Lawrence, McDonald, Moniteau, Pettis, Platte, Ray, Saline, Stone and Vernon counties.
