Joplin Police arrest man on warrant, find meth in his shorts

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Incident Spotlight

Yesterday morning one of our officers saw a male walking through a field at 2nd and Oak. He recognized him and discovered he had a Webb City warrant.

When he went to contact him, the male ran and refused to stop. He ended up tripping and falling into the roadway as another police car arrived. That officer took him into custody. He had baggies, a snorting straw and meth.

At the jail more meth was found hidden in his shorts. The 31-year-old Joplin male was arrested for the warrant, possession of 5.5 grams of meth, drug paraphernalia and resisting arrest.
