A Galena, Kansas man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 11:42 a.m. today on Junge Boulevard, one mile west of Joplin.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2010 Dodge Challenger driven by Port A. Keough, 27, Neosho, ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned, striking a mailbox.
A passenger, Zachary R. Green, 33, Galena, was ejected from the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene by Jasper County Deputy Coroner Sean Woodward. As required by law, the surviving driver was tested for alcohol.
The fatality was the 106th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
