Sixteen-year-old taken into custody after bomb threat forces evacuation of Neosho High School

On May 9, 2018, the Neosho Police Department responded to the Neosho High School for a bomb threat.

The Neosho Police Department was alerted of the bomb threat around 13:33 hours. The decision was made at this point to evacuate the students from the building.

At around 14:14 hours, the Joplin Police Department was contacted to assist with this investigation and to utilize their K-9 units for a search of the building.

There was a 16-year-old male taken into custody for questioning.
