Joplin, MO – Crowder College was recipient of a generous donation from the Arvest Foundation in the amount of $17,500.
The funds will be used to expand the welding course offerings at the Joplin Advanced Training and Technology Center. Welding is one of four certificates currently offered at the Joplin ATTC. This donation will provide funding for a part-time instructor in an effort to fill the high demand for more course offerings.
“We are pleased that Arvest Foundation sees the importance of skilled training and thankful for their gracious donation,” stated Phillip Witt, Associate Vice President of Career & Technical Education.
“The Arvest Foundation is committed to supporting organizations in our local area that meet the needs of our communities, including educational needs such as this,” stated Arvest Bank President, Chad Evans. “Organizations such as the Joplin Advanced Training and Technology Center identify needs and provide training solutions to provide students with skills to advance and grow in our workforce. This donation to expand the welding program is one example of a partnership that makes us proud.”
“Recognizing the growth of our welding program, we appreciate the Arvest Foundation investing in the workforce pipeline in partnership with Crowder,” said Jim Cullumber, director of institutional advancement for Crowder and the Crowder College Foundation. “These funds will address an immediate need created by our growth spurt.”
Crowder College began offering classes at the Joplin Advanced Training and Technology Center in the fall 2017. Programs are one or two semesters in length at the Joplin ATTC and are offered in Welding, Information Technology, Advanced Manufacturing, and Drafting.
