On Saturday, 15 December 2018, at 5:00 PM the Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire with flames showing at 812 East 7th Street.
The first crew arrived on scene at 5:05 PM to find smoke and flames showing from the interior of the house. Crews found flames coming from a central interior wall as well as fire extending into the attic. Crews extinguished the fire and overhauled the scene. Fire crews remained on scene until 6:45 PM.
There were no injuries to firefighting crews. One civilian was checked by METS for smoke inhalation but was not transported.
The Joplin Fire Department responded with 6 units and 17 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service.
The cause of fire was investigated and found to be electrical, unintentional.
