A LaRussell teen was injured in a one-vehicle accident 9:20 p.m. Friday on Route U, three miles north of Sarcoxie.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2010 Honda Insight driven by Allie J. Green, 16, Monett, went off the left side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting a passenger, Brett L. Bruenn, 17, LaRussell, who was not wearing a seat belt.
Jasper County Deputy Coroner Mike Woodward pronounced Bruenn dead at the scene.
Another passenger, Cheyanne M. Carman, 17, Pierce City, was treated for minor injuries at Mercy Hospital, Joplin.
The fatality was the 127th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
