According to the Highway Patrol report, as traffic was slowing, a 2007 Freightliner driven by Colby D. Rector, 39, Jasper, drove into the rear of a 2020 Freightliner semi-trailer driven by Yachao Chen, 27, Monterey Park, California, pushing it into the rear of a 2017 Volvo semi tractor driven by Randall C. Placker, 63, Durant, Oklahoma.
The Rector vehicle then hit a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Brantley R. Wright, 20, Neosho.
Rector was treated for minor injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
