The Republic Services Transfer Station in Galena, Kansas, that accepts bulky items from Joplin residential trash customers, will be closed Saturday, September 21.
To adjust for this closing, the Transfer Station will be open on Friday, September 20th from 8:00 am to 2:30 pm for Joplin residential trash customers to dispose of bulky items.
Republic Services prides itself on being one of the safest waste and recycling companies in the industry. On September 21, they will have a Rodeo Safety Competition where drivers and mechanics get to showcase their skills and their dedicated focus to safety.
It is important for the entire staff and their families be able to join the drivers and mechanics in this event to show their support. For this reason, the transfer station will be closed on Saturday, September 21.
During general operations, the transfer stations hours for Joplin residents are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 8 to 11:30 a.m. and 12 noon to 2:30 p.m.; and Saturday from 8 a.m. to 12 noon. The program is normally closed on Sunday and Friday.
