Lanagan man killed, Webb City, Anderson residents seriously injured in collision on 76

One person was killed and three others injured in a two-vehicle crash 6:45 p.m. today on MO 76 at Anderson.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2002 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Joe A. McGuire, 30, Webb City, attempted to make a left turn in front of an oncoming 2010 Jeep Wrangler driven by Andrea J. Outt, 36, Seneca.

The Outt vehicle struck the McGuire vehicle. A passenger in the McGuire vehicle, John M. Howerton, 41, Lanagan, was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:40 p.m. by McDonald County Deputy Coroner Jonathan Fletcher.








Another passenger in the McGuire vehicle, Mary Lowery, 24, Anderson, was airlifted to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, with serious injuries.

McGuire was taken to Mercy Hospital Springfield with serious injuries.

Outt was treated at Mercy Hospital, Joplin, for moderate injuries.

The fatality was the 77th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
