According to the Highway Patrol report, a tractor-trailer driven by an unknown driver failed to yield and made a left turn from Business Loop 49 onto MO 59 into the path of a 2007 Honda Shadow driven by Charles D. Merrell, 18, Neosho.
Merrell laid the motorcycle over and was ejected underneath the towed part of the tractot-trailer, which drove over him.
Merrell was taken to Freeman West Hospital, Joplin, to be treated for serious injuries.
The tractor-trailer was driven from the scene.
