Bates City pedestrian airlifted to Bolivar hospital, 12-year-old Joplin boy also injured in Benton County accident


Two people were injured in a car-pedestrian accident 5:50 p.m. Sunday on MO 83, just north of MO 82 in Benton County.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2008 Pontiac G8 driven by Derek D. Tumbleson, 42, Joplin, was southbound on MO 83, where a 1994 Dodge Ram driven by Brian D. Crowl, 65, Quincy, was stopped, partially blocking the southbound lane.







The Tumbleson vehicle struck the towed unit of the Crowl vehicle causing it to hit a pedestrian, Ronald D. Crowl, 42, Bates City.

Ronald Crowl was airlifted to Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar, with serious injuries.

A passenger in the Tumbleson vehicle, a 12-year-old boy, was treated for moderate injuries at Citizens Memorial Hospital.
