(From the Joplin Fire Department)On Wednesday, 09 December 2020, at 11:24 AM, the Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 1729 Pennsylvania Ave.
The first crew arrived at 11:29 AM to find a one-story wood framed structure with heavy smoke showing. Everyone was out of the house when crews arrived.
Crews attacked the fire, extinguished it, and then checked for any fire extension. Crews remained on scene until 1:51 PM.
The Joplin Fire Department responded with 7 units and 20 personnel. The Fire Department was assisted by METS Ambulance Service and the Joplin Police Department. There were no injuries to civilians or firefighting personnel.
The cause of the fire was ruled electrical in nature.
