(From Southern News Service)Certification to fly unmanned aircrafts is now an option at Missouri Southern State University – and it’s the focus of the next edition of “Newsmakers” on KGCS-TV.
A drone program is now available for students to learn about operations, design and practical applications. The certificate in “Unmanned Aircraft Systems: Remote Pilot Applications” consists of three courses.
Course instructors are Brian Jones and Dr. John Messick, who both visit with Judy Stiles, host and KGCS general manager, to discuss the use and applications for drones.
The show will begin airing nightly at 5:30 p.m. the week of Dec. 6, and Saturday, Dec. 12 at 5:30 a.m. on KOAM-TV. It’s also posted on the station’s YouTube channel - KGCS Missouri Southern.
KGCS programing can be seen on channel 21, and is also available on regional cable television systems such as Sparklight, Mediacom and Suddenlink Communications. The station operates as a service of the Department of Communication at Missouri Southern State University.
