(From Highway Patrol Troop D)Captain D. Scott Sater, commanding officer of Troop D, Springfield, is pleased to announce the following promotion effective August 1, 2024.
Effective August 1, 2024, Sergeant Martin “Travis” Polodna was promoted to the rank of lieutenant and will serve as a member of the Troop D command staff. Lieutenant Polodna was appointed to the Missouri State Highway Patrol on July 1, 1997, as a member of the 74th recruit class.
After graduating from the Patrol’s Law Enforcement Academy he was assigned to Troop E, Zone 2, Butler/Ripley counties. In September of 2000 he transferred to Troop D, Zone 9, Cedar/St. Clair counties. On August 1, 2005, he was promoted to corporal and designated the assistant zone commander of Zone 4, Taney/Stone counties. On March 1, 2011, he was promoted to sergeant and designated the commander of Zone 8, Barton/Vernon counties.
Lieutenant Polodna graduated from Marion C. Early High School in Morrisville, Missouri, in 1991. In 1996 he graduated from Missouri Southern State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Wildlife Management and Conservation. Lieutenant Polodna is married to Laura (Cox) and they have three children, Marissa, Jenna, and Jake.

I only worked with Travis a short time - me a 911 dispatcher (now retired) and Travis as the zone 8 Sergeant. But he was a pleasure to work with. Congratulations Travis on your promotion. You deserve it.
