The Joplin Fire Department responded at 5:19 PM on Monday, 09 March, to a report of a structure fire at 1810 S Joplin Ave, Joplin. Arriving on scene at 5:21 PM crews found a single story wood framed residential structure with flames and smoke showing throughout the entire rear of the structure. Crews extinguished the fire and determined that there were no other hot spots. Crews remained on scene until 7:48 PM.
The entire structure suffered significant fire, smoke and water damage. Ownership information is not available at this time. The house appeared to be abandoned.
Seven fire units and 20 firefighters responded to the scene, as well as JPD and METS. No one was injured on the scene.
At this time the cause of the fire remains under investigation by the Fire Marshal.
