The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office is getting reports that people are receiving calls from the “IRS” and “Sheriff’s Office” saying if they don’t give them a Re-load or Green Dot type card for large amounts, ranging from $2500 to $5,000, they will be arrested.
The Jasper County Sheriff’s Office does not solicit any type of funds over the phone!!!! If you are receiving calls like this, be aware of the scam. Some victims have told us that their caller I.D. showed a Jasper County Sheriff’s Office number on it.
So remember, the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office does not and will not solicit money over the phone or make any money transactions over the phone dealing with making arrests.
