HIghway Patrol arrests Carthage man on 13 charges

A Carthage man is being held in the Jasper County Jail after the Highway Patrol arrested him Saturday on 13 charges.

Jacinto Bernave, 25, was arrested on the following charges:

-Felony Jasper County warrant for DWI
-Felony Jasper County warrant for probation violation
-Misdemeanor Joplin Police Department traffic warrant
-Misdemeanor Joplin Police Department contempt of court
-Felony possession of methamphetamine
-Misdemeanor possession of marijuana
-Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
-Speeding
-Driving while revoked
-Possessing plates of another person
-No insurance
-Tint violation
-No seat belt

  3. Why are people so quick to assume someone is illegal because they have a Hispanic last name and committed a crime. He is in fact an American citizen. Born and raised in the USA.
