Three NCO employees taken to hospital after chemical exposure

(From the Joplin Fire Department)

The Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of a chemical exposure at NCO, 17171 W 7th Street, at 2:44 PM, Thursday, 09 July, 2015.

Fire crews arrived on the scene to find a large, one story retail building with several people evacuated to the parking lot. Upon investigation it was determined that an employee used an off-the-shelf bug spray which apparently resulted in several employees presenting a hypersensitivity to the chemical. Some 20+ employees were affected with 3 being transported for medical attention.

The Fire Department used fans to ventilate the building and the employees returned to work.
No injuries were reported to either fire personnel or others in the area. 2 Joplin Fire units and 8 Joplin Fire personnel responded as well as JPD, METS and the Joplin Health Department.
