On August 10, 2016 at 3:40pm officers with the Joplin Police Department responded to
Northpark Mall, 101 North Range Line, in reference to an armed robbery that just occurred.
Officers contacted an elderly female who stated that she had walked out of JC Penney to
the south of the mall and to her vehicle.
She was approached by a white male with a handgun
who demanded her purse and threatened her. The suspect then fled with her purse and she was
not injured. No arrests have been made at this time.
