Police, community relations to be subject of MSSU panel discussion

The Diversity Committee at Missouri Southern State University will present “Exploring Issues in Diversity: Strengthening Police and Community Relations and Interactions” at noon Thursday, Nov. 10, in the Mills Anderson Justice Center Auditorium.

The event will feature a panel discussion with area law-enforcement representatives, who will answer questions submitted by community members. The panel will include Sheriff Randee Kaiser, Jasper County Sheriff’s Office; Chief Matt Stewart, Joplin Police Department; Chief Carl Francis, Webb City Police Department; Chie Delmar Haase, Carl Junction Police Department; and Officer Victor Sly, MSSU Police Department.

The panel will be moderated by Faustina Abrahams, Advising Services coordinator and Diversity Committee member, and Clive Veri, president of Commerce Bank. Refreshments will be provided.
