The Joplin Area Transportation Study Organization (JATSO) will be voting to add two new projects to the 2016-2019 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP). Both projects being added are capital transit projects which includes a replacement trolley vehicle and two new pedestrian waiting shelters for the Metro Area Public Transit System (MAPS).
The TIP contains transportation and transit projects in the Joplin Metropolitan Area that are partially funded by Federal transportation programs over the next four-year period. The public comment period for the TIP amendment begins Friday, August 25 and extends to Thursday, August 31. The proposed amendment can be view on the JATSO website at http://www.joplinmo.org/DocumentCenter/View/7232. Comments can be submitted to JATSO by phone at 417-624-0820, extension 201, or e-mail at tcunning@joplinmo.org.
This public notice, public involvement activities, and time established for public review and comments on the TIP will satisfy the FTA Section 5307 Program of Projects requirements for Metro Area Public Transit System (MAPS).
