Results announced for Highway Patrol Troop D enforcement operations

Captain Juan Villanueva, commanding officer of Troop D, announces the results of enforcement operations conducted Friday, August 11, through Sunday, August 13, 2017. 

The highway enforcement areas were selected based on a high number of drinking- and impairment-related crashes, in addition to other traffic violations that contribute to unsafe driving behavior. The water enforcement areas were selected based on the high number of reported behavioral problems, illegal drug usage, and underage alcohol consumption.

A total of 34 citations, one felony arrest, one DWI arrest, and 103 warnings were issued in conjunction with a hazardous moving operation conducted in Barry County on August 11, 2017. Totals from this enforcement effort include:

Driving While Intoxicated Arrest -- 1
Speed Violations -- 7
Seat Belt Violations -- 15
Child Restraint Violations -- 2
Other Hazardous Moving Violations -- 2
Non-Moving Violations -- 3
Driver License Violation -- 1
Insurance Violations -- 2
Misdemeanor Drug Violations -- 2
Felony Warrant Arrest -- 1

A total of 29 citations, one misdemeanor arrest, and 36 warnings were issued in conjunction with an enforcement saturation on the Niangua River in Dallas County on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Troopers were assisted in this operation by the Missouri |Department of Conservation. Totals from this enforcement effort include:

Minor In Possession Of Alcohol Violations -- 3
Littering Violations -- 2
Possession Of Marijuana Violations -- 7
Possession Of Drug Paraphernalia Violations -- 3
Possession Of Glass Containers Violations -- 6
Failure To Secure Child In PFD Violations -- 2
Conservation Law Violations -- 4
Misdemeanor Warrant Arrest -- 1

A total of 21 citations, one DWI arrest, and 53 warnings were issued in conjunction with a driving while intoxicated saturation conducted in Dallas County on August 12, 2017. Totals from this enforcement effort include:

Driving While Intoxicated Arrest -- 1

Speed Violations -- 3
Other Hazardous Moving Violations -- 2
Non-Moving Violations -- 3
Driver License Violations -- 2
Insurance Violations -- 2

A total of seven citations were issued in conjunction with an enforcement saturation on the Elk River in McDonald County on Saturday, August 12, 2017. Totals from this enforcement effort include:

Possession Of Marijuana Violations -- 6
Littering Violation -- 1

A total of 30 citations and 37 warnings were issued in conjunction with a hazardous moving operation conducted in Taney County on August 13, 2017. Totals from this enforcement effort include:

Speed Violations -- 12
Seat Belt Violations -- 3
Registration Violations -- 5
Hazardous Moving Violations -- 4
Non-Moving Violations -- 5
Insurance Violation -- 1

Additionally, troopers assisted six motorists during the operation.
