Suspect arrested near Seneca High School after fleeing from police

In the early morning hours on 08/01/2017 officers stopped a vehicle at Frisco and Adams. 

Upon the initial traffic stop officers observed a male subject jump out of the suspect car and fled the scene. Officers requested the help of Newton County Sheriff's Office to search the area for the suspect. A short time later deputies located the suspect by the high school. 

The suspect was identified as Terry Abernathy, Seneca. It was learned Abernathy had six active warrants for his arrest one including a felony probation violation. Abernathy was taken into custody and transported to the Newton County Jail and booked.
