Sarcoxie Police Department arrests woman on meth charges

(From the Sarcoxie Police Department)

On January 8th, 2018:

One of our Officers was running radar on 14th Street. The Officer observed a vehicle leaving a known drug house. The vehicle drove by the Officer and he observed the vehicle to be missing 1 of 2 tag lights and missing one of their mirrors. The Officer stopped the vehicle at Center and 16th Street. The Officer made contact with a female driver, Ashley Krueger. The Officer asked where she was coming from and Krueger mentioned two known drug houses within Sarcoxie that she had been at previously. Krueger denied consent to search the car to the Officer and stated she knew her constitutional rights, that the Officer couldn't detain people for an unreasonable amount of time.

*Slight disclaimer, If you're going to throw an, "I know my rights!" card at an Officer, be sure to know ALL of the law. An Officer can legally detain somebody for an extended amount of time if the Officer has reasonable suspicion (Krueger leaving TWO known drug houses in Sarcoxie) that criminal activity is taking place.

After much arguing with Krueger and being denied to search, the Officer requested a K-9 presence to the call. The Officer was informed that K-9 was en route. Krueger and the Officer waited in 25 degree weather. Krueger finally gave consent for the officer to search the car after playing a game of Freeze-Out while waiting for the K-9.

The Officer got consent, then observed an excessive amount of cigarette butts inside the the middle console under the shift stick. The Officer felt around and the plastic covering wasn't attached. He picked up the plastic covering and observed a clear plastic bag with crystal-like rock in it. The Officer field tested the baggie and it tested positive for Methamphetamine. The Officer later weighed it to be 4.1 grams of Methamphetamine.
