I want to thank all the personnel with EMS, fire, and law enforcement that assisted the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office with the critical incident we were called to Tuesday.
As many of you are all aware we were dispatched to a shooting involving a male and female (name not disclosed for further investigation) in the southwest part of Miami in the county.
When law enforcement arrived, we found a middle aged female that appeared to be shot in the hand and head area. She was rushed away due to her life threatening injuries. The suspect was not at the place of the shooting incident upon law enforcement's arrival.
A search was conducted, even by aircraft, for the suspect. A couple of hours into the search the male subject was located deceased with what appeared to be a self inflicted gun shot. The victim was last reported to be in critical condition.
