MODOT construction crews began demolishing the Connecticut Avenue bridge over I-44 during the overnight hours and will continue and expect to conclude the work tonight beginning at 9:30 p.m.
I-44 will be closed between the 6th and 8th exits from 9:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m.
The demolition is being done to make way for a new bridge.
