On Saturday, January 13th, 2018 at 1426 hours, A Jasper officer initiated a traffic stop near the intersection of Main St. and Easy St., Jasper, Missouri, on a black 2010 Dodge Ram truck in reference to an obstructed rear license plate.
Contact was made with the driver, Crystal Winningham, after she pulled into the driveway of a location where several drug arrests have been made in the last two years on S. Main St. The officer smelled intoxicants coming from inside the vehicle and observed an open can of beer. A search of the vehicle was conducted.
A plastic baggy with a white crystal substance inside believed to be methamphetamine was found. The occupants of the residence arrived in the middle of the incident and let their frustrations be known to law enforcement officers. At this time we do not believe and it does not appear they are big fans of law enforcement.
Due to the number of drug related arrests with the residents and associates of the house on S. Main, Jasper PD will be looking into charges of “Maintaining a Public Nuisance” on the owner of the residence and it’s occupants. If you’re not familiar, the owner of a local restaurant in Jasper was charged and arrested for this in 2016 after several drug and stolen property arrests were made at Sharon’s Restaurant.
Maintaining a public nuisance.
A person who permits his or her property to fall into such condition as to injure or endanger the safety, health, comfort, or property of his or her neighbors, is guilty of a violation.
Winningham is presumed innocent until proven guilty.
