Citizen tip leads to JPD meth arrest at 6th and Picher

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Incident Spotlight

On Saturday night at 1:46 a.m. we received a call about a suspicious male standing in the street at 5th and Picher.  He was said to be swinging two large sticks.

When an officer arrived, they found a male swinging two brooms sticks as either martial arts or exercise. The male was found to have a city warrant and was arrested.

In his pockets, officers found a bag of meth and a broken meth pipe, resulting in both misdemeanor and felony drug charges. This is a great example of a citizen seeing something and saying something, allowing us to investigate and take action.
