On January 8, 2018 at approximately 14:24 hours, officers received information regarding a leaving the scene accident in the 700 block of West Spring Street.
Within minutes officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle which was southbound on the Neosho Boulevard. Observations of the officer were the vehicle was driving erratic, weaving in and out of traffic at excessive speeds.
An attempt was made to stop the vehicle near Neosho Boulevard and Hill Street. The suspect was then involved in another accident in the 500 block of South Neosho Boulevard. The suspect fled from that accident attempting to elude the officer.
Officers continued to attempt to stop the vehicle as it traveled southbound on Neosho Boulevard. While approaching Business Highway 49 and Lusk Drive the vehicle left the roadway, traveled through the ditch and across Business Highway 49 where it struck a traffic light barrier leaving the vehicle disabled.
The operator of the vehicle was determined to be a 19-year-old female from Stella, MO. She was transported to Freeman West Hospital for moderate injuries. This investigation is ongoing for suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
