Joplin Police recover stolen pickup, arrest women with meth and marijuana in bra and pants

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Incident Spotlight

Yesterday evening at 6:05 p.m, one of our officers was at 7th and Schifferdecker and recognized a 2003 Dodge Pickup that had been reported stolen in Newton County. He confirmed by plate the truck was stolen as it pulled into West 7th Street Wal-Mart.

He contacted the female driver, female passenger and male passenger. All three were arrested for tampering with a stolen vehicle. The female driver had meth and marijuana concealed in her bra, and the female passenger had meth and marijuana concealed in her pants. Multiple felony charges and misdemeanor charges resulted in this case.

While most of us were enjoying the Super Bowl, this officer was on his game locating a stolen vehicle and making felony drug arrests. The owner was able to come to the scene and get his truck back.
