Joplin officer arrests woman for DWI, blood alcohol nearly four times the legal limit

(From the Joplin Police Department)

Incident Spotlight

Thursday night at 11:04 p.m. one of our detectives observed a vehicle stopped at 12th and Campbell Parkway, next to a sign that said no parking.

The detective activated his red and blue lights and parked behind the van. The van began to roll forward slowly as the officer walked up to the driver’s window. The driver then put the van into reverse and backed into the front of the police car.

Ultimately, the female driver was found to be very impaired by alcohol. Initial BAC results showed the driver was almost 4 times the legal limit at .357 BAC. She was arrested for DWI and cited for improper backing.
