So you want to be a Webb City Police Department communication officer

The Webb City Police Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Communication Officer

Minimum criteria to be eligible for hire as a Communication Officer:
Graduation from high school or G.E.D. equivalent; and valid driver’s license.
1. Minimum 18 years of age.
2. No previous felony convictions, or misdemeanors involving domestic violence or moral turpitude.
3. Successful completion of the departmental testing process, a final background and pre-employment drug screening.
Prefer (but do not require) Missouri Uniform Law Enforcement System (MULES) certification.

Applicants who successfully complete the written and oral portions of the testing, which involve a preliminary background check, will be placed on a “pre-qualified” list for one calendar year. 

As vacancies occur for Communication Officers, and the applicant has attained the qualifications listed above, selected candidates will be subjected to an oral examination, a final background check, including a computerized voice stress examination, and a pre-employment physical, psychological, and drug screening.

Those applicants, who have applied within the past twelve months and have not been successfully hired, need not re-apply. The City of Webb City reserves the right to remove any applicant from the eligibility list without cause.

Salary: Salary may vary based on experience. Starting salary = $12.81-$17.63 per hour.
