On Saturday, 06 October 2018, at 11:26 PM the Joplin Fire Department responded to a report of an unknown type of structure fire at the City of Joplin Sports Complex.
The first crew arrived on scene at 11:34 PM to find a small shed on fire. Crews also found a small fire in a restroom nearby as well. Crews extinguished the fire and overhauled the scene. Fire crews remained on scene until 1:04 AM.
There were no injuries to firefighting crews or civilians.

The Joplin Fire Department responded with six units and 15 personnel and was assisted by the Joplin Police Department and METS Ambulance Service.
The cause of fire is under investigation by the Fire Marshal and JPD.
