A Jasper man was killed in a one-vehicle accident 4:30 p.m. Monday on Route E, 3.5 miles east of Carthage.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu driven by Alford P. Taylor, 78, Jasper, ran off the roadway and struck a fence.
Jasper County Deputy Coroner Jason Hutchins pronounced Taylor dead at 5:34 p.m.
The fatality was the 112th this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
