Five arrested after Barton County Sheriff, Highway Patrol execute search warrant at Lamar home

On 05-02-2019 The Barton County Sheriff's Office obtained enough information to apply for and receive a search warrant to search a residence at 1602 Walnut Street in Lamar.

The search was to try and locate a subject who was wanted on an outstanding warrant out of Barton County. 

Maryann Phelps, age 44, of Lamar had an outstanding warrant for
her arrest and was also believed to be at the residence. 

Further information was also told to us that there was supposed to be illegal controlled substances in the home. At around 7 pm the Barton County Sheriff's Office assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol executed the search warrant. 

During the execution of the warrant 13 people was found inside the home. The Lamar Police Department responded to assist us with the number of subjects. The following subjects was arrested due to outstanding warrants.

Maryann Phelps, age 44 Barton County Warrant
Joseph M. Deleon, age 42 Jasper County Warrant
Samuel A. Leivan, age 35 Three Barton County Warrants
James M. Ruth, age 19 Jasper County Warrant

While searching the residence for controlled substances, deputies located in a bedroom illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia. 










One subject was arrested for being in possession of those. Jackie D. Ford Jr, age 49, of Lamar was arrested and transported to the Jail. 

On 05-03-2019, Barton County Prosecuting Attorney Mike Smalley filed a criminal charge against Ford for possesion of a controlled substance with a bond amount of $5,000 cash or surety.

  1. Hi Randy. Just wanted to help you out. The picture of the last subject is Samuel Leivian not Jackie Ford. Jackie Ford is the person is the 4th picture. All known criminals around these parts. Good job BCSO, LPD, & MSHP!
