According to the Highway Patrol report, Ryan M. Henderson, 45, North Kansas City, was standing outside of a 2013 Kia that was parked on the shoulder when the vehicle was struck by a 2012 Hyundai driven by Verginia R. Dayondon, 38, Lamar, causing the vehicle to hit Henderson.
Henderson's vehicle traveled off the right side of the roadway and into a ditch, while the Dayondon vehicle came ro rest in a median.
Henderson was taken to Bates County Memorial Hospital, Butler, with serious injuries.
