Pineville man cited for DWI following injury accident on I-49 near Lamar

A Pineville man was charged with driving while intoxicated following a two-vehicle accident 1:07 p.m. today on I-49, eight miles south of Lamar.

According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2001 Dodge 3500 truck driven by Rodney Dennis, 46, Pineville, struck the rear of a vehicle being towed by a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Thomas E. Houts, 74, Shell Knob.

Dennis, who was also charged with careless and imprudent driving, was treated for minor injuries at McCune-Brooks Mercy Hospital, Carthage.
