According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2019 Toyota Yaris driven by Joseph N. Raylyanyu, 24, Brighton, attempted to pass a vehicle on the two-lane road and traveled into the path of a 2018 Chevrolet 2500 driven by Broc E. Ratliff, 20, Avilla.
Raylyanu was airlifted to Mercy Springfield where he was pronounced dead by Dr. Brian Draper at 12:23 a.m. today.
The fatality was the 22nd this year for Highway Patrol Troop D.
