A Southwest City man was cited for driving while intoxicated following a one-vehicle accident 9:25 p.m. Monday on private property five miles north of Southwest City.
According to the Highway Patrol report, a 2000 Chevrolet Tracker driven by Ronald D. Edmisten, 51, Southwest City, ran off the left side of a private drive, overturned and struck the ditch.
Edmisten, who was also cited for careless and imprudent driving, was treated for serious injuries at Freeman West Hospital, Joplin.
