(From the Sarcoxie Police Department)1. Say it with us. I. Can. Not. Leave. My. 7. Year. Old. Child. Alone. At. The. Library.
Not only is it not smart, but child that young cannot be left unattended in The Red Front. You may have said you had a timer set for 45 minutes, but your child was left for two hours. The world is not a nice place...
2. Parents, have a talk with your child(ren) to inform them that it is not ok that they tell other kids that they will shoot up their house or throw an explosive in their bedroom window after telling the kid they know where they live and where their bedroom is. We call that terroristic threats, and you'll be having a chat with the Juvenile Office.
3. Let's picture social media drama free. Nice thought, isn't it. Some adults, though, continue to see a need to stir drama. Stop it, you're adults. Act like it...please.
4. Back to the old ways of keeping your hands to yourself. If you feel you gave to lay your hands on a mentally ill female, please don't. You already have enough domestic assault charges on file with us. We'll be glad to add more if she pursues charges.
5. Parents, we do not know how to get it across to you any clearer. You kid's phones should not go to bed with them. They don't sleep as they should, they cause trouble, they have horrible language that could make us blush, and most of all, they take photos of what they shouldn't.
6. The school has lots of cameras! Don't be doing silly things in your vehicles kiddos, especially when two officers are on. We can get there quick. Property damage and careless and imprudent driving are real charges. Now, go get that rake...
7. Thank you, everyone who reached out during County's Amber Alert. Chief had multiple calls from people wanting to help find the child. Kudos to you all. That's why the Sarcoxie community is great!
8. Threatening to blow up your neighborhood usually never ends well. Folks get upset. We get called. You get charges. Just woosaw for a moment before yelling at the neighbors, please.

Ah ! Yet another Sarcoxie Police Department press release apparently written by a 7th grader. Maybe if you took your job and constituents seriously they might take you seriously.
ReplyDeleteIt appears to be a light hearted way to convey information to the community. Since when do police departments have constituents?
