Try out a Zumba class, take a Walk With a Doc, meditate during poetry at the pond, respond to George Washington Carver’s own words at the chalk walk, and meet helpful experts with information about nutrition and health. All activities are free of charge.
Park Prescription Day is celebrated across the United States and internationally to promote the growing movement of healthcare providers referring patients to parks to improve their health and wellbeing.
In the event of rain, there are plenty of umbrellas to borrow! Some activities may be moved indoors.
10:00 a.m. Walk With a Doc – get your heart pumping and talk with Dr. Rob McNab
10:30 a.m. and noon Zumba – build strength and increase flexibility with Zumba by Whitney
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Nutrition by Bonnie – learn from a nutritional coach for a healthy lifestyle
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Alliance of SW MO – learn about safe disposal of prescription medication
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Poetry at the Pond – write responses for National Poetry Month
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Chalk Walk – use George Washington Carver’s quotes to spark creativity
