Earth and Arbor Day event planned at Wildcat Park

(From the City of Joplin)

Join forces with Joplin Parks and Recreation, Wildcat Glades, Liberty, the Chert Glades Chapter of Master Naturalists, and the Missouri Department of Conservation to defend and celebrate Earth & Arbor Day on Saturday, April 22nd at Wildcat Park. The festivities begin at 10 a.m.

The celebration will feature several Earth and Arbor friendly community alliances that will encourage the care of our planet through demonstrations, hands-on activities, and giveaways.

Other activities include a vendor booth scavenger hunt with prizes, a native tree and plant sale by Forest Keeling Nursery, live music by Chester Ellis and the Tumbleweeds and delicious food served by local food vendors.

As part of Arbor Day, Liberty is providing one free, three-gallon tree to the first 500 households who register. Those interested in a tree may pre-register for a free three-gallon tree or register at www.arborday.org/libertyutilities promo code: JOPLIN2023 or at the event. Quantities are limited. For more information about the event visit joplinmo.org/ArborDay.
